Privacy policy

Lateral Products (“we”, “us”) is an Australian product consultancy owned and directed by Dan Schrader. This page explains what we collect through lateralproducts.com, why, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
- What you type into our forms: your name, email, phone number if you give it, and what you tell us about your app or business.
- Basic visit data: pages viewed, the link or ad that brought you here, and your browser and device type.
- Advertising cookies: if you arrive from a Facebook or Instagram ad, Meta’s tracking code (the Meta Pixel) sets cookies so we can tell whether the ad led to a booking.
We don’t ask for payment details, and we don’t collect sensitive information.
Why we collect it
- To reply to you and arrange the call you asked for.
- To understand which pages and ads are useful, so we spend less showing people things they don’t want.
We don’t sell your information, and we don’t add you to a mailing list unless you ask.
Who else handles it
Contractors who work with us may see your enquiry so they can help reply to it, under the same terms as this policy.
We use a few services to run the site and our business. Your information passes through them for the purposes above:

Some of these services store data outside Australia, including in the United States.
Meta advertising
When you submit a form after clicking one of our ads, we tell Meta a lead happened. We send your email address in scrambled (hashed) form so Meta can match it to the ad, never in plain text. Meta’s use of that data is covered by Meta’s privacy policy. You can control the ads you see in your Facebook ad preferences, or block cookies in your browser.
How long we keep it
Enquiries we don’t go ahead with are deleted within 12 months. If we work together, we keep what we need for the engagement and for tax records.
Your choices
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@lateralproducts.com and we’ll reply within 30 days. If you’re not happy with how we’ve handled it, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top.
